Do you have a student who will be enrolled at Uintah High School? Have you considered getting involved with the Uintah High School Community Council? The Council meets once every other month and consists of at least six parents, five teachers, and the principal. Each member on the council serves for a term of two years. This year there are three parent positions up for election.
The Uintah High School Community Council exists as per State Statute 53A-1a-108 and 53A-3-701 to develop a school improvement plan, develop a School Land Trust Program, assist in the development and implementation of a staff professional development plan, and advise and make recommendations to school and school district administrators and the local school board regarding the school and its programs, school district programs, and other issues relating to the community environment for students.
Pursuant to state regulations, all nominations will be included on the ballot during an election to be held for 3 consecutive days on August 13, 14, & 15, 2014, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. (and during Sophomore Orientation on August 14th from 6 - 7 p.m.) at Uintah High School. All parents of high school students are eligible and encouraged to vote.
If you are interested in serving, please submit a written request (including your name, phone number and a short statement regarding why you would like to serve on the council), to the mailing address or email below. Requests must be received no later than 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2014, to be eligible to be on the ballot.
